Orei

1 hr 10 mins from Villa Averoff, Evia

Orei is the port for Istiaia. It has characteristics entirely peculiar to itself, with a Frankish fortress separating the town into two parts. Orei is a port where visitors can enjoy fresh fish in the local taverns or try one of the famous ouzo bars along the coast. It is worth seeing the remains of the ancient citadel, the venetian & turkish castles, the byzantine church of Agios Vasilios, as well as the Marble Bull, dating back to the 4th century B.C. on the village beach.
